Vagdevi College of Education is located at Thirthahalli, a town celebrated for its unique culture by , Jnanapith awardee  Sri Kuvempu, the great Kannada poet. Thirthahalli is spread on the banks of river Tunga.Vagdevi College of  Education founded  by the Sathpatha Education Trust® in 2008,to impart much needed higher education in this part of Shimoga district.
